Saxophonist and singer Conny Ottinger, who moved from Poland to West Germany as a child, has reconnected with Slavic languages through singing. In the Windfalls Quartet, she combines her love for the complexity of Eastern European music, Alpine yodeling, and jazz. The band’s repertoire, shaped by folklore, jazz, and improvisation, is interwoven with original compositions and polyphonic singing. We are delighted that Rolf Zielke has been playing in the Windfalls Quartet since Reggie Moore—after 40 years in Berlin—moved back to New York.
